Tournament Rules & Regulations

Categories

Teams will compete across the following Mixed Doubles categories:

• Combined DUPR 5.599
• Combined DUPR 6.299
• Combined DUPR 7.099

Team Composition

• Each team must consist of a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 8 players.
• Every team match consists of 3 Mixed Doubles matches, one from each category.
• Each individual match is played to 21 points (Rally Scoring).
• Sudden Death applies at 20-20 (next point wins).
• The first team to win 2 matches wins the team tie.
• Once a team secures a 2-0 lead, the remaining third match will not be played.
• Players may only represent ONE category against the same opposing team during a team match.
• Example: A player who competes in the 5.599 category against Team A cannot also compete in the 6.299 or 7.099 category against Team A.

Tournament Format

Group Stage & Quarter Finals

• Round Robin Format
• 21-point Rally Scoring
• One (1) set only
• No deuce (Sudden Death at 20-20)

Semi Finals, 3rd/4th Placing Match & Finals

• 21-point Rally Scoring
• One (1) set only
• Win by 2, capped at 25

Every scheduled team match must be played. Split prizes or mutually agreed forfeits will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Line-Up Submission

• Team Captains must submit their line-up at least 10 minutes before the scheduled match time.
• Once submitted, the line-up cannot be changed for that match.
• Failure to submit a line-up before the deadline may result in a walkover at the Tournament Director's discretion.

DUPR Rating Rules

• Category eligibility will be determined using each player's DUPR rating on the tournament registration closing date.
• Players without a DUPR rating (NR) will be assigned a 2.5 DUPR rating for category eligibility calculations.
• The Tournament Organizer reserves the right to verify all player ratings before the event.

Match Officiating

Group Stage

• Players are responsible for keeping the score.
• Tournament Officials (TOs) will assist with scorekeeping and result submission where required.
• Players must call the score loudly and clearly before every serve to avoid score disputes.
• The receiving side is responsible for making line calls.

Knockout Stage

• Referees will officiate all matches, including scorekeeping, foot fault calls, and rule enforcement.
• All Referee decisions are final.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute during a match:

1. Players should first attempt to resolve the matter respectfully on court.
2. If the dispute remains unresolved, the Head Referee or Tournament Director will intervene.

• The Referee will officiate the remainder of the match, and all subsequent decisions shall be final.

Player Conduct

All players are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play throughout the tournament.

Unsportsmanlike behaviour, abusive language, intimidation, or misconduct may result in warnings, point penalties, match forfeiture, or immediate disqualification at the sole discretion of the Organizers.

Only score discrepancies and rule-related disputes raised during the match will be considered. No protests or appeals will be accepted after the match has concluded.

Additional Rules

1. Time-Out

• Group Stage: No time-out.
• Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, 3rd/4th Placing & Finals: One (1) time-out of 1 minute per team per match.
• Injury Time-Out: Maximum cumulative duration of 10 minutes. Failure to resume play within the allocated time will result in retirement or withdrawal.

2. Late Arrival

• Teams arriving more than 10 minutes after the scheduled match time will forfeit the match by walkover.

3. Player Fitness

• Players are responsible for ensuring they are medically and physically fit to participate.

4. Liability

• The Organizers shall not be held liable for any injury, accident, loss, or damage incurred during the tournament.

5. DUPR Submission

• All eligible match results will be submitted to DUPR.

6. Match Scheduling

• Teams are responsible for ensuring their players are available for scheduled matches.
• If a player is involved in overlapping matches, the team must choose which match the player will participate in. Any unattended match will be recorded as a walkover.

7. Tournament Changes

• The Organizers reserve the right to amend, postpone, reschedule, or cancel any part of the tournament if necessary.

8. Refund Policy

• A full refund will only be issued if the tournament is cancelled by the Organizers.
• No refunds will be provided for withdrawals or any other reason after registration has been confirmed.

9. Final Authority

• The Tournament Director reserves the right to interpret these rules and make final decisions on all tournament matters. All decisions are final.
