THE DENTISTS' PICKLEBALL CUP

Rules & Regulations :

1. This tournament is open to registered dentists only. Proof of professional registration may be requested.

2. Each team’s combined DUPR must not exceed 6.00, with no individual player rated above 3.50. Unrated players are subject to the Tournament Director’s approval.

3. Teams will compete in groups of four (Total 8 groups). The top two teams advance to the Championship Tier, while the bottom two advance to the Plate Tier.

4. NEW We have 36 teams in total. 4 groups will have 5 teams thus playing 4 group stage games. And fifth placing team in the group will be eliminated, and will be eligible for social play at another two courts

5. Starting-point advantage:

MD - XD - (0-2) 2 points to XD

MD - WD - (0-4) 4 points to WD

XD - WD - (0-2) 2 points to WD

This applies throughout the tournament.

5. Official pickleball rules apply unless otherwise stated. Group rankings will be determined by matches won, head-to-head result, followed by point differential.

6. Although there will be walking referees and floor manager on the spot, players kindly call your own game (self-referee, receiver call for ball out), if any dispute more than 3 minutes, call upon the referees to come and overlook the game. 

Semi finals and finals will have referee and line judges on each side.

7. Players must check in on time. Teams more than 10 minutes late may concede a walkover.

8. Partner substitutions require prior approval and must continue to meet the eligibility, gender category and DUPR requirements.

9. Registration is confirmed only upon full payment. Fees are non-refundable after the closing date but may be transferred with prior approval.

10. Participants compete at their own risk and are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to participate.

11. Players must demonstrate good sportsmanship. The Tournament Director’s decision on disputes, eligibility and match matters is final.

12. The organizer reserves the right to adjust the schedule, groupings or format when reasonably necessary.

Tournament Format :

Group stage : Round Robin between 4 teams in all 8 groups, rally to 15 points, sudden death if 14-14 top 2 to go into Championship Tier, bottom 2 into Plate Tier, group with 5 teams last placing will be eliminated

Round of 16 :

Championship Tier, Plate Tier - Game to 15, serve to win if 14-14, no timeout

Quarterfinals & Semifinals : Championship Tier, Plate Tier - Game to 21, serve to win if 20-20, 1 timeout of 1 min, switch court at 11 points

Finals : Championship Tier - Games to 15, best of 3, serve to win if 14-14, 1 timeout of 1 min per game, switch court after game 1, and on game 3 at 8 points

Plate Tier - Game to 21, serve to win if 20-20, 1 timeout of 1 min, switch court at 11 points
