PENANG JUNIOR UNITY PICKLEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 The Persatuan Pickleball Daerah Barat Daya, together with Corona Sports, is organizing a junior pickleball tournament on Malaysia Day, funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kementerian Belia dan Sukan). The goal is to promote the sport, encourage community participation and create a competitive yet fun environment for all school students in Malaysia. This tournament also aims to mark Malaysia Day with meaningful activities that foster national pride and unity. Calling all young athletes! Also, please take note: Good news! We managed to obtain the approval letter from KPM. Announcement: Great news! A new category has been added — Boys’ Singles 18U. Act fast, as it’s limited to only 6 players. Grab this opportunity before the slots are filled. Thanks! As usual, we will also apply for co-curricular marks (PAJSK) for all students who participate in the tournament. This will be done after the event, once we have submitted the full report and is subject to KPM's approval. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Registration is FREE! Tournament Highlights: • Round Robin: first to 21 rally points, sudden death at 20–20 • Knockout (QF/SF/Final): first to 21 rally points, sudden death at 20–20 Tournament Categories i) Category A : Open Gender U12 Open category: No gender restriction – all gender combinations are eligible. (Both players must be 12 years old or younger as of 15 September 2025.) Announcement: Introduction of New Categories In response to the overwhelming interest and valuable feedback received, the committee is pleased to announce the introduction of new categories for the tournament. The Mixed Doubles U12 category will now be separated into: * Open Doubles (U12): No gender restrictions – all gender combinations are eligible (Max 16 pairs). * Girls’ Doubles (U12): Both players must be female (Max 6 pairs). ii) Category B: Girls Doubles U19 Both players must be female and under 19 years of age as of 15 September 2025. iii) Category C: Boys Doubles U19 Both players must be male and under 19 years of age as of 15 September 2025. iv) Category D: Mixed Doubles U19 Each team must consist of one male and one female player, both players must under 19 years of age as of 15 September 2025. 🏆 Prizes: Champion : RM200 + Medals 1st Runner Up : RM100 + Medals 2nd Runner Up : RM50 + Medals 3rd Runner Up : Medals NOTE: For all players under 19, please complete the PARENTAL/GUARDIAN CONSENT & DECLARATION FORM. https://forms.gle/vTcVWX6PGJnXZMyH9 (Click here to fill out the form) Players who do not submit this form will not be allowed to participate in the tournament.
