SUMMARY - Terms & Tournament Rules

Time: 12.00 PM – 6.00 PM

Venue: Garden International School, Mont Kiara

Categories & Format

Categories:

• Men’s Doubles
• Women’s Doubles
• Men’s Doubles Veteran
• Women’s Doubles Veteran
• Mixed Doubles
• Mixed Doubles Veteran

Maximum Entries:

• Maximum of 16 players/teams per category or as per allocated by the Organizing Commitee

Tournament Format:

Pool Play (Round-robin + Single Elimination) for;

• Men’s Doubles
• Women’s Doubles
• Mixed Doubles

Round-robin for;

• Men’s Doubles Veteran
• Women’s Doubles Veteran
• Mixed Doubles Veteran

Equipment & Attire

• The organizer will provide pickleball paddles for the tournament.
• Participants may use their own paddles, provided that they comply with the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook 2026 specifications.
• Tournament-grade pickleballs will be provided by the organizer.
• Participants are required to wear proper sports attire and court shoes during matches.

Match Format

• All matches will be played using a using a 1 set only
• Each set will be played up to 15 points using rally scoring.
• The first team to reach 15 points will be declare as the winner. No deuce or win-by-two rule will apply.
• Players will change ends whenever any teams reach 8 points

Game Structure

For Pool Play (Round-Robin) followed by Single Elimination.

• Teams will be randomly drawn into pools with an equal or reasonably similar number of teams. Each team will play against every other team in their respective pool once. The winner and runner-up of each pool will advance to the Single Elimination Stage.
• Match Progression (subject to the number of participating teams):
• Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Final, with a 3rd/4th Place Playoff.

For Round-Robin

• Teams will be randomly drawn into pools with an equal or reasonably similar number of teams. Each team will play against every other team in their respective pool once. The winner will be determine based on the final standings.

Basic Rules

The tournament will follow the following key pickleball rules:

• Double Bounce Rule applies.
• Volley shots are not allowed within the Non-Volley Zone (Kitchen).
• A fault will be called if a player steps into the Kitchen while executing a volley.
• The ball must land within the designated court boundaries during play.

General Regulations

• All decisions made by the organizer and tournament officials shall be final and binding.
• The organizer reserves the right to amend the match schedule and playing arrangements when necessary.
• Players must report according to the assigned match schedule. Failure to do so may result in a walkover being awarded to the opponent.
• Any rules not specifically stated in this document shall follow the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook 2026.
