Description

1. Eligibility

  • The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the tournament rules at any time. Changes will be communicated via WhatsApp.
  • Each team must consist of a minimum of 4 players (at least 2 males and 2 females) or a maximum of 6 players (3 males and 3 females).
  • All participants must have a valid DUPR rating; all matches will be recorded on DUPR.
  • Players under 18 require a signed parental/guardian consent letter on the event day.
  • The event is open to Malaysian citizens only.

2. DUPR Restriction

Teams must stay within the following DUPR limits:

  • 6-player team (3 Males + 3 Females):
  • Combined DUPR must not exceed 20.0.
  • Each player may only play one match per set.
  • 4-player team (2 Males + 2 Females):
  • Combined DUPR must not exceed 13.5.
  • Players may repeat matches within the same set if needed.
  • Teams without full DUPR ratings will be verified by the organiser or coach.
  • Any team exceeding the DUPR cap may be required to adjust their lineup or risk disqualification.

3. Team Size Options

  • 4 Players – 2 Males + 2 Females
  • 6 Players – 3 Males + 3 Females


4. Player Participation Rules

  • 6-player teams:
  • Each player may only play one match per team set (Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, or Mixed Doubles).
  • All 6 players must participate equally across the event.
  • 4-player teams:
  • Players may repeat matches within the same set if needed.
  • Team captain must ensure fair player rotation and gender balance across matches.

5. Team Event Format

  • Each match consists of 3 games:
  •  1 × Men’s Doubles
  •  1 × Women’s Doubles
  •  1 × Mixed Doubles
  • Scoring System: All games are played to 21 rally points, sudden death at 20–20 (next point wins). No deuce, no win by 2.
  • Points-Based Ranking System: Every point scored contributes to the team’s total group points. Group ranking is based on total points scored, not match wins.
  • Estimated Duration: 70 minutes per team match (including changeovers and buffer).

6. Tournament Format & Rules

  • Group Stage: 16 teams split into 4 groups. Each team plays 3 matches (round robin).
  • Advancement:
  • Top 2 teams from each group → Upper Bracket
  • Remaining teams → Lower Bracket
  • Knockout Stage: Round of 8 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Final. (In knockout to finals , three games are played; total points decide the winner) 
  • Group Ranking Criteria:
  • Total Points Scored
  • Point Difference (Points For – Points Against)
  • Head-to-Head Result
  • Random Draw
  • Players must report to their court on time. A 10-minute no-show results in automatic walkover.
  • Umpires: None for group stage or knockout rounds (except 3rd Place & Final). Players call their own lines. Unresolved disputes may be decided by the Tournament Director.
  • 3rd Place & Final: Umpires will call scores and kitchen faults; line calls still made by players.
  • Timeouts:
  • Group Stage, Quarterfinals, Semifinals → None
  • Final & 3rd Place → 1 × 1-minute timeout per team per game
  • Hydration breaks: <30 seconds, bottle on court
  • Injury Timeout: 15 minutes cumulative per team; if play cannot continue, match is forfeited
  • All results recorded in DUPR. Players must be registered, linked, and have a visible profile picture
  • Team name or player changes after 3rd December 12pm are not allowed (breach may result in disqualification)
  • Seeding: DUPR Rating. Seeds arranged to avoid early clashes between groupmates
  • All matches follow USAPA Pickleball Rules unless otherwise stated

7. Paddle Rules

  • No formal inspection, but paddles must meet USAPA specifications
  • Tournament Director may request a paddle change if non-compliant


8. Prize Money

Total Prize Pool – RM16,000

Upper Bracket:

  • Champion: RM7,000 + Medal
  • 1st Runner-Up: RM5,000 + Medal
  • 2nd Runner-Up: RM3,000 + Medal


Lower Bracket:

  • Champion: RM1,000 + Medal
  • 1st Runner-Up: Medal Only
